Festa di San Vitale a San Salvo (Ch)
Un popolo...una tradizione
In occasione della tanto attesa festa di San Vitale, Patrono di San Salvo, gli usi e le tradizioni di un popolo, ma soprattutto il desiderio di conservarli, riemergono tenacemente quasi a voler allontanare l'dea che una festa patronale sia solo "giostre e fuochi d'artificio". Da qui l'intenzione di creare una sorta di ricerca culturale sulle memorie, folklori e sulla storia della festa di San Vitale ad opera di Marco Granata e Giovanni Artese. Una monografia singolare dal titolo "La festa di San Vitale a San Salvo" che rievoca le vicende salienti della chiesa di S. Giuseppe, i momenti formativi della tradizione religiosa e culturale ed infine i riti più significativi della festa patronale, in cui si ritrova l'intera comunità cittadina. L'ambizione degli autori è stata quella di contribuire all'arricchimento delle conoscenze sul tema e al consolidamento delle fasi di sviluppo della società "salvanese" quanto della sua identità. Il testo percorre di fatto i momenti rilevanti della celebrazione religiosa del Santo, la storia della sua vita, la martirizzazione e le vicende della conservazione delle sue reliquie. Ma San Vitale è oggi anche il Santo che caratterizza la celebre sfilata de Le Some (sacchi di farina utilizzata per la preparazione dei taralli), nonchè la preparazione delle "sagne", piatto tipico di pasta fatta in casa, lavorata e tagliata a sfoglia. Un momento di allegria, accompaganto da canti, preghiere e ricordi delle donne più anziane. Curiosa e interessante è inoltre la tradizionale "pipizzera", composta da divers
e pagnottelle di pane azzimo attaccate ad un'asta decorata con nastri e carta colorata. La composizione veniva portata in giro per il paese per raccogliere offerte che permettevano di partecipare all'estrazione della stessa. La famiglia che si aggiudicava la pipizzera era considerata fortunata in quanto la scelta era avvenuta per volere del Santo. L'opera è corredata da foto, didascalie e approfondimenti frutto di preziose collaborazioni di chi crede ancora nella ricchezza delle tradizioni e nell'identità di una città come San Salvo.
