La figura di questo illustre figlio del Molise è strettamente collegata a diverse vicende oscure che hanno caratterizzato il decennio 60/70. La sua stessa tragica fine è a tutt’oggi avvolta nel mistero più fitto, non essendo stati individuati né gli autori della sua morte, né gli eventuali mandanti. In questa sede, tuttavia, ci piace ricordare soprattutto il Pecorelli giornalista, nonché uomo di legge e raffinato scrittore che con la sua indole di infaticabile ricercatore riusciva a ricavare da indizi apparentemente semplici le conclusioni più fantasiose ed a volte anche avventate.

Partito dalla piccola cittadina di Sessano del Molise, la sua vita sin da subito si manifesta varia e certo non sedentaria: arruolatosi giovanissimo negli Alleati, si diplomò ed in seguito laureò brillantemente specializzandosi nelle curatele fallimentari. Ma a metà degli anni 60 la sua passione per il giornalismo prese il sopravvento,affinando ancora di più la sua innata ricerca degli scoop e delle notizie a sensazione, facendo leva sul suo eccezionale intuito di segugio.

La fase decisiva per la sua vita professionale, e probabilmente anche per la sua morte, fu la creazione della rivista OP ( Osservatorio Politico), che grazie alle sue conoscenze molto altolocate gli consentiva la pubblicazione di documenti riservatissimi o dossier scottanti. La sua amicizia con diversi settori delle istituzioni statali gli consentiva di arrivare a mettere il naso in faccende delicatissime ed a entrare in possesso di elementi che dovevano essere assolutamente tenuti celati. Divenuta la rubrica da periodica a settimanale, Pecorelli riuscì a procurarsi il denaro necessario per mandare avanti con regolarità la neonata creatura editoriale, che tuttavia iniziava ad infastidire con le sue penetranti e meticolose indagini.

Coinvolto a vario titolo nel sequestro Moro, nella Massoneria,  nello scandalo Italpetroli, Pecorelli,uomo unanimemente riconosciuto dalla personalità complessa e sfuggente, trovò la morte nel marzo del 1979: assassinato a pochi passi dalla redazione della sua rivista, quasi come un tragico segno di comunione mortale tra l’uomo e la sua creatura editoriale.

Quel che è certo è che la sua vita fu assai inquieta ed inquietante, riuscendo tuttavia ad uscire praticamente indenne da gran parte delle querele e delle azioni giudiziarie contro di lui intentate a causa delle sue indagini che evidentemente davano fastidio a molti pezzi grossi, specialmente dell’imprenditoria e soprattutto della politica italiana. Molisano doc, amante della verità ( pur se a volte scomoda per altri ) egli tenne sempre ben presente quale fosse il dovere di un vero cronista:ovvero, quello di informare il lettore, pur se con metodi non propriamente ortodossi.Tutto questo, tuttavia, non ha impedito al suo paese d’origine di intitolargli nel 2011 la piazza davanti la sua casa natale, a testimonianza imperitura del suo impegno civile maturatogli certo dalla nascita in queste terre aduse a combattere ed a guadagnare la vita ogni giorno.

The journalist molise: Carmine " Mino " Pecorelli and the mysteries of Italy

The figure of this illustrious son of Molise is closely linked with several obscure events that have characterized the decade 60/70 . Its very tragic death is still shrouded in mystery denser , have not been identified nor the authors of his death, nor any principals. Here , however, we like to remember especially the Pecorelli journalist and man of the law and fine writer who by his nature as a tireless researcher could get clues from seemingly simple conclusions more imaginative and sometimes reckless .

Starting from the small town of Sessano , his life right now is manifested varied and certainly not sedentary : young enlisted in the Allies, he graduated and later graduated brilliantly specializing in receiverships . But in the mid 60's his passion for journalism took over , honing even further its innate search of scoops and news sensation , relying on his exceptional intuition hound .
The key stage in his professional life , and probably also for his death , was the creation of the magazine OP ( Observatory Political ) , who thanks to his knowledge enabled him very highly placed the publication of confidential documents or files burning . His friendship with the various sectors of the state institutions allowed him to get to stick your nose in delicate matters and to get hold of items that had to be kept completely hidden .
Become the address book from periodic weekly , Pecorelli was able to obtain the money needed to keep the newborn creature with regularity editorial, which, however, was beginning to annoy with his insightful and meticulous investigation.

Involved in various capacities, in the Moro kidnapping , in Freemasonry , in the scandal Italpetroli , Pecorelli , a man universally recognized by the elusive and complex personality , he died in March of 1979, murdered a few steps away from the issue of his magazine , almost like a tragic sign of mortal communion between man and his creature editorial .
What is certain is that his life was very restless and anxious , unable yet to emerge virtually unscathed from most lawsuits and prosecutions brought against him because of his investigations that clearly bothered many big shots , especially of ' entrepreneurship and especially of Italian politics.

Molise’s son doc, lover of truth (even if sometimes uncomfortable for others) he always kept in mind what was the duty of a true reporter : that is, to inform the reader , though not strictly orthodox methods .
All this, however , did not prevent his country of origin in 2011 entitle him the square in front of his birthplace , in testimony of his undying commitment to civil mature him some from birth in these lands ,use to fight and gain their lives every day.
