Tornareccio 'the city of the bees' ... 'the city of art'

Tornareccio, a small village in the Abruzzi, where on its walls are many mosaics flower, with petals in the shape of cards, a perennial spring. And this is how they want the bees-citizens. The mosaic tiles resemble their tighten the sequences of the cells of the bee houses. The mosaic is a honeycomb of vision,
made with the wax of the imagination. Works weatherproof and time. Tornareccio... 'Beekeeping and bee-culture, and art honey bee, buzzing of bees and
creativity, symbols representative of this small Abruzzo. The synthesis of this dichotomy Tornareccio was made possible thanks to a queen bee who flew far, far
greater in hives, but has always remained true to the 'honey of memory'. A man, a merchant and art collector, Alfredo Paglione, the queen bee, that the great hives of Milan, was able to create many hives in his country because of its strong attachment to the roots Tornarecciane. Tireless, designs museums, gives whole sections of his collection to public and private institutions and all this for the sake of art, the best part of life, the best part of all of us.
Walking through the streets of Tornareccio is a unique experience: the TWENTY-FOUR mosaics located in the center are filled with light, and it's like seeing
them shout their aesthetic force, communicative. Lost in each mosaic means to listen to a story that celebrates the man, his creativity, his dexterity but also his everyday life. It is celebrated the artist who creates a work accomplished, unique and designed specifically for Tornareccio. Is celebrated on the master mosaic artist, his skill and sensitivity that makes each project a creative act further away from what could be a sterile reproduction, its ability - to quote Ortega - to talk about the materials used. But above all, is celebrated daily. The mosaics in this country are born to share the experience of every single person and that's in the Italian province, an entire community lives in a museum that draws its energy from everyday life. Walking, then you discover something new, something that tastes nice, art and love. (Dr. Elsa Betti)
